Climate change will affect all jurisdictions in Canada. Federal, provincial and territorial ministers recognise that addressing climate change is a shared responsibility and have agreed to strengthen collaboration and continue to take action in their jurisdictions.
In 2015 Ministers established a new climate change committee under CCME to facilitate ongoing engagement on this issue. The committee works on priorities identified by ministers in order to effectively address climate change. The work of the committee will include reviewing the outcomes of international meetings on the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and maintaining a dialogue among the federal, provincial and territorial governments in preparation for the next United Nations Climate Change Conference, scheduled for November 2016 in Morocco.
